With the glut of so-called dystopian fiction on the YA market lately, it’s clear that many publishers are throwing the label around willy-nilly, perhaps because it sounds better than “post-apocalyptic science fiction”, which is what most of these books really are. But what IS a dystopia, really?

  • I had “make a book list page” on my last Bloggiesta to-do list and I’m thinking of it again for the upcoming Bloggiesta, so was just checking yours out! Linking to other lists is a good idea that I hadn’t thought of.

    Shannon Reply:

@Laurie C, I have a tendency of giving myself more work than I need, Laurie – I put the book lists from other sites on pages in my blog, so I can access them whenever, as I found that sometimes the original webpage disappears! Or, as with the award winners, there isn’t a handy list compiled anywhere. It’s a lot to keep up with though, regardless!

  • I really want to read books there so good depends though on the type of book!

    Shannon Reply:

@Julie, True, Julie. Well once you find one you like, it’s fortunately quite easy to find more like it – and from there you just keep going! 🙂
